Hand Build Clay Pottery Class for Teens and Adults
Learn how to hand-build clay pottery
Class Description
What You’ll Learn This is a hand-building pottery class, so we’ll create with our hands rather than throw on a pottery wheel. Through a series of small projects, you’ll explore both form and surface decoration while learning the fundamentals of slab building, pinching, and creating three-dimensional forms. We’ll also experiment with a variety of decorative techniques, including appliqué, stenciling, sgraffito, terra sigillata, slip, underglaze, and glaze. And in two words? Have fun! I genuinely believe clay is one of those art forms that is best explored together. There is something wonderfully communal about working with clay, sharing ideas, learning from one another, and seeing how differently each person approaches the same material. Clay is also one of the earliest materials humans incorporated into daily life, with traditions found in cultures around the world. Today, it remains a diverse, contemporary art form that offers endless possibilities for creative expression. Clay will inspire you. It may challenge you. It will definitely get your hands dirty. And hopefully, it will help you reconnect with your creativity in an entirely new way. Material Fee: Under 5 ich $5 5-10 inch $10 10 inch $15 etc
