Glass Heart Plant Stake Workshop
Learn the fundamentals of Lampworking while creating Heart plant stakes. No experience necessary!
Class Description
In this lampworking-focused class, students will create a glass heart directly on a stainless-steel plant stake using torch-worked soft glass techniques with instruction from glass artist Kasey Larson This class emphasizes control of heat, form, and symmetry while building the heart shape directly onto the stake, creating an elegant and balanced finished piece. Students will continue their exploration of proper flame control, even glass buildup, and shaping methods needed to form clean heart lobes and a defined point. Students will learn how to work glass onto stainless steel, manage thermal stress, and refine the surface for a smooth, finished appearance. Students will create up to 3 glass plant stakes. All glass, stainless-steel stakes, tools, and safety equipment are included. You’ll Learn... - Torch safety and flame chemistry - Working molten glass directly onto a stainless steel post (preparing for bead mandrel work) - Shaping and balancing a heart form - Color placement/mixing and simple decorative techniques - Surface finishing and preparation for annealing Finished pieces will be kiln-annealed and available for pickup after cooling. Instructor: Kasey Larson
