Class Description
Students will learn to create a Monarch Butterfly suncatcher in this intermediate stained glass workshop. They will build upon the skills learned in the Beginner Workshop and learn to use a ring saw to cut some of the more complicated pieces. Students will leave this class knowing how to add wire detailing and decorative soldering to create more detailed pieces in future glass endeavors! Additional topics covered will include adding hobby came to a stained glass piece and creating your own jump rings. Kristi will guide you through cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, cleaning, patina, and polishing your piece. This workshop will last 6 hours, including a 15-minute break halfway through the lesson. Please bring lunch or snacks if needed. We have a refrigerator and microwave on site. Please wear closed-toed shoes and pants in the studio. All glass and tools are provided. Note: The Beginner workshop or prior stained glass knowledge is a prerequisite for this class. Class Outline: 5 minute Introduction 30-45 minutes cut glass 30-45 minutes grind glass (including ring saw) 35-55 minutes foil glass 2-2.5 hours solder 30 minutes clean/patina/polish Clean up Kristi is the owner of "None of this is cake"
